Our process
At Mosquito, we believe that jewelry should be made with intention. In a world of fast production and short-lived trends, our approach to handmade jewelry focuses on time, continuity, human touch and local production. Our modernist pieces are created through a slow and considered jewelry making process, resulting in collector pieces designed to last beyond seasons.
A Slow Approach to Handmade Jewelry
Each Mosquito piece is either produced in our own atelier between Andorra and France — where all necklaces and hair combs take shape — or developed in close collaboration with a small atelier and skilled artisans for our metal-based pieces, from Barcelona. Rather than dividing production into isolated steps, we work through continuity: the same hands often shape, refine, and finish each piece. This approach allows for a deeper connection with the material, resulting in jewelry that feels cohesive, balanced, and personal.
Working with Small Ateliers
We work closely with small-scale workshops where craftsmanship and experience guide every decision. These long-term collaborations allow us to develop pieces gradually, refining proportions and surfaces over time. By producing in small runs, we maintain control over quality while respecting a slower, more responsible production rhythm.
Time as Part of the Jewelry Making Process
Time is an essential element of our process. Allowing each piece to develop slowly creates space for adjustment, reflection, and subtle refinement. This is what gives our handmade jewelry its quiet strength — pieces shaped not by urgency, but by attention.

Imperfections
Rather than aiming for perfect uniformity, we embrace subtle irregularities. Soft edges, slight variations, and visible traces of touch remain part of the final piece. These elements are not flaws, but evidence of the making process — a reminder that each object has been shaped by human hands. And an inheritance of its one-of-a-kind character.
Modernist Pieces Beyond Trends
Our modernist jewelry is not designed to follow seasonal trends. Each piece is conceived as a collector piece, meant to be worn daily and gathered over time. This timeless approach allows the jewelry to evolve with the wearer, becoming part of everyday life rather than a temporary statement.
Jewelry Made to Last
At Mosquito, the jewelry making process is as important as the final form. By working slowly, collaborating closely with artisans, and valuing the traces of making, we create modernist pieces that feel intimate, durable, and lasting. Jewelry as a quiet expression — made to last, in form and in meaning.
